Animal Care

It is going to get difficult for the animals and especially, cats to stay cozy and warm this winter.

As beings of higher intellect, it is our honour to come to the rescue!

Let's get started:

Items needed: T-shirt (or) cloth and a cheap stool.

1.) Take an old stool or buy a cheap one (like the green one in image (1))

2.) Take an old T-shirt and cover the stool with it. (Image (2) and (3))

3.) Now we have a cozy tent! Additionally, one could cover its roof with plastic for water-resistance and place an extra cushion or cloth inside the tent for extra coziness. (Image (4))

This can be done within two minutes and in this cheap and durable way, you could save many lives!

The animals shall bless you forever!

Thank you for reading. :)

This Wind

You never know whom you'll enlighten,
Take a few steps to the garden

Where the wind blows strong
And the greenery rustles along;

This day in the garden:
Come see, I will show you how

The world's stage meets our routes
Take a bow and eat your fruits

You might want to stick around
The cavalry stands to astound

A cavalry of tunes
The melody of old runes

See this ocean leaping far and wide
You'll find it heavier at night

When the cricket tunes touch the clouds
And rains fall upon the ground

You will feel this smell exhilarate
A time of happy joy and mistakes

Humans, afterall
Through history have found

How they can emanate a bout of certain storms
But once tired, come back home

To feel this wind again...
For it is not often so soft but, stormy

Maybe it had its own story
It wanted to sing around

And now that what is done is done,
The world sleeps sound

I paid a quick visit to the Orchid Farm with my family last year and guess what,
Orchids are one of the best plants out there!

These plants are easy to grow and they don't need mud nor much water to survive.
Going easy on those clean indoors, I see!

All they need is some coal to get planted in and our job is done!

These beautiful flowers come in a variety of colours, textures and fragrances.

They grow indoors, or in shady places, well-protected from the sun and all they need is a sprinkle of love... Oh, and a tad bit of water to survive.

We could also use other special products to make them look better.

These flowers care for their skin, apparently and are a real beauty for the house!

We found these in the Orchid Farm near the Ideal Beach Resort, where they are sold for a considerably good price!

         The orchid genus is old, widespread and diverse. They grow naturally all over the world (except in Antarctica) and are a favorite among horticulturists.

Here are a few interesting facts:

1. Orchids are masters of deception and make insects mistake them for mates - to commence pollination.

2. Orchids have a symmetry similar to human faces, which is- the bilateral symmetry.

3.Orchids can be upto a hundred years old, and their seeds are the size of dust particles.

4. There are more than 25,000 documented species of orchid, and scientists are finding more every day.

5. The well-known 'Vanilla' plant is a species of orchid.

6. Orchids come in different colours, fragrances, shapes and sizes! Just like shoes that are hard to choose from...

Sea Plant or Sea Horse?

So, I came across this the other day and could not help but sketch it down.

It is an underwater living organism but, here's the catch:

Is it a plant or a sea horse?

It basically has 'leaves' for its body,

with a tap-root like plant design;

It does not have visible legs, fins nor eyes!

So, what do you think?

Any decent person would say this is a plant;

But, oh no! That's where we're wrong.

It is in fact, a seahorse

known as the LEAFY SEADRAGON

Amusing, isnt it?

Just as wonderful as its name sounds too.

It is very tricky to guess this one

but, if you were able to guess it right, then you're a genius!

Fanatic Am I?

Fanatic Am I?
Uncanny it is, leave!
They say my dreams are too aureate,
But I say "What you sow, you reap",
To which they say "Indeed!"
To arrive at my ever-ever  land shall be discreet,
To know where to lead myself is in itself a treat,
Implanting the sense of affirmation is a necessary deed,
Vixenish are those who disbelieve,
To vanquish against all odds is my dream,
Honour for my family is what I shall conceive,
Increasing my precision with a legitimate zeal,
To overcome all gridlocks with an absolute heed,
My Mom supplicates as she pleads,
To Lord she whispers in her every heartbeat,
"Make my child a behemoth so supreme,
To blast the iceburg of atrocity a sleet",
These visions I share are my Mom's beliefs,
Holding onto them with an infrangible seal,
These ideologies have a hidden prestige,
My presence in this world will forever be a vestige,
Thus, till the end of time I will remain an √©lite,
Taking in more, revel for life as I breathe,
My flamboyant imaginations will never be burried,
For I'm resolute to stay up-beat!

To My Family

Impossible to repay all that you have done for me;
I shall pray and pray
So to plant gifts eternally;
The highest place in Heaven,
The highest castles and costliest stones;
In Heaven you will find
All that you have sown and more!
Hope my righteous deeds get you far;
This is all that I can ever say
To repay you otherwise is miles apart.

Summer Lyric

[Gif by Heenas Haseeb]

It's the time of the year to think about pirates,

Governing your own sail;
Go har-de-har, fight a captain,
Leave your legendary trail!

For who knows how and who knows when

Our journey will start to lead
The boys to school from summer-delights;
We'll soon have our own way of living.

Once when summer's over,

Mark down your memories to describe
Courage, bravery, skills of steel
That threw members off of tribes!

There's grass, nature, skies to admire,

Beaches to make yourselves slip in.
For the nights are starry and the days as cloudy;
Better get out and stop regretting!

The people, my crew, you'd like to be

Won't be very simple;
Mighty dreams and thoughts cloud in
To make things seem crippled;

Find a flow that's best for you

Make your talents combine,
Throw yourself to the ultimate test;
Soar and fly or simply dive!

For anything could come true
If you wished for it with your might...

Poetry to Me

Breaking the codes
Deciphering dreams
Triggering visions
Of things unseen

Obscure as it seems,
Holds the only answer
Residing within

My dreams symbolize what I see:
Fragments of reality
Mixed with awe,
Images of things

I had seen and had not,
Hardest to break the codes:
A tornado; just a plane above the seams
And what was that violent rush?

The fall; Centric over my ego,
Self esteem,
What not.

Poetry is like a dream,
Breaking the codes,
projecting reality
Poetry, like my dreams.

Your Own Orchestra

A poem sparks the light
To any fire alike;
The thoughts from your head,
Processed from within this lead
Give this white monotony

A colourful scheme.
Oh, anything that you dream
Can be onto this simple wood creamed
From a black pointer that knows no end
And with a rhyme does blend
Your own symphony;

Played by the orchestra of words-
A big band, higher than a sword its worth,
And your pencil, a baton
Held by the maestro of your own genius.
Get the world a ticking
To the music of the clicking
Of your pen!

They hear it out loud in the end,
As an artist flaunts his genius silently.

Children's Literature: Lorry's Life

Lorraine did not like crystals or diamonds.

She was not an ordinary girl.
She was an impeccable tom boy
And proud of it, no worry at all.
Just follow Lorry along her way
As tunnels twist and waters lisp,
Lorry did not stop till she got her way.
Was she adamant or simply determined?
Well, don't think about it, she is running away!
Where to now?
Off to the grassy sunset or to the wind on the willows?
Maybe off to buy bread for Ted's mashed potatoes.

She flew a paper plane
Then, drew on the walls.
Was she being mischievous or creative?
Don't worry, just look ahead before you fall!
She jumped over a crevice, ran off with a shawl.
Was it her mother's for the weaver's place?
Lorry then screamed "That's not all!"
Standing at the doorway, a stranger called her again
Lorry did not stop and walked away.
Her life is filled with a million tales.
Sometimes this, sometimes that,
We may not catch up if we dropped our pace.

Sonnet: Care

How our worlds are different amuses me
Each a nucleus surrounded by different peeps;
Electrons, protons, neutrons,
Isn't our world too the same?

Each spinning after the other
Truth or dare, live and learn, it's all a game.
But, a very serious one indeed,
A question of life and death;

If it spins out of control,
You'd wish you had no regrets
And yet you needn't have any
But, did you ever care?

Love, care and sympathy-
You needn't put them at a loss each day.

The Conquest of Glory

Like the light through a prism,
Our reasons split seven fold;
Everything you know
Has once been told.

And now that you surrender
To the times of lovely thoughts,
Frozen sorrows walk away
To bring in new flocks

Of love measured in gold;
This does with wealth abound-
A time that is warless,
A time of things 'found'

Of reason and discovery
Of sound judgment and truth
Owing to technology this time,

King of Glory cannot be uncrowned

How to build on your confidence/ maturity:

Here are a few of the many tips that helped me and could help you too!

1.)  Understand that nobody is perfect.

2.) Make yourself stronger: Do not run away from your insecurities. Simply jot them down, learn from them and solve them.

3.) It is a process of continually accepting your mistakes and being the better person by trying not to repeat them.

No, don't feel down when you make a mistake. In fact, a person who never makes a mistake is never really trying. So, you're steps ahead of that! Making mistakes is NOT bad or small of you. It is on the contrary, a very important part of your growth because it teaches you things you hadn't seen before. Simply accept it, promise not to repeat it and move on. (Do keep your promises)

4.) Most people are not sure of what they say, know, hear or do. Make sure to do a lot of research and simply just 'know' and be sure of what you do.

5.) Knowledge can be fun! Build on it by finding quizzes, general knowledge media and puzzles on your normal app store, and/ or battling it out with your friends.

6.) Practice makes perfect.

7.)  Do not spend time around negative people or people who make fun of you, make you feel unhappy or insecure at the end of the day.

8.) Surround yourself with experienced or positive people who brighten up your day.

9.) Never think less of yourself (nor of others for that matter). If you feel that way or if you feel that you are getting more than what you deserve, then make yourself work hard enough to deserve it or be polite enough to return it back.

10.) Is telling lies your problem? It will damage your self-esteem.

Find out why you lie so much and try to deal with it. Are things too hard for you to handle? (Get help) Do you forget too much? (Maintain a reminder or a diary) Do you keep crossing deadlines or breaking promises? (Do not bite more than you can chew and learn to say ‘no’ or step up). Do you go hard on yourself, get things wrong or are you just plain lazy? (Find out what you are running from and solve it)

Finding and accepting your weaknesses can be hard, and to deal with it- harder. Try SWOT analysis and keep an account of your behaviour, perhaps. These are the few things that really work.

11.) One cannot have everything in life and it definitely does not provide you with short cuts or lady luck to rule over it... It is pure hard work, passion and determination that can make life what it is. Read some inspiring quotes if you like! Knowledge and maturity can take you to places.

In the end, it is the one who takes the road less taken that emerges the victor.

Stay strong and happy everyone!

It is good to learn from things, grow and stay strong.

Fragile glimpses, of more to be sought
Easily succumb to the warmth of the now
They drift in the cacophony, that overwhelms
The hidden recesses, of incomplete thought

Acceptance is bliss, wonder not why
Consider no need, to ponder what is
Direction not found, just follow along
Serenely observe, all that flows on by

Within lies a spark, a chance to soar
Given such chance, if it's to be seen
Look out far and search inward deep
Choices there are, to accomplish more

Coming this far, the decision is due
To hope for the best, as do the rest
Or follow your heart, brighten the light
Show your face; I thought, it is you.

Tiger, My Cat

[Image hand-drawn by Heenas Haseeb]

Tiger, my cat-
He's a jolly good being,
Sometimes rolling in egg shells,
Sometimes covered in beans;

He has a stern face
Like that of a stoic,
A stern breed
With suitable fur;

Thought I, he had no love,
Thought he was invincible and free!
Thought I, he had no duties,
Just a cat sleeping, relentlessly;

But, oh look for all that he's done!
The other day I saw him protecting his son,
Just a cat with many duties-
Guarding his kittens from things of beauty,

Like a rose or a bougainvillea tree,
Those have thorns, prickly immeasurably
A call to the colony and everyone's gone!
No intruder in sight, just me and my mom.

He was not there one day
Perhaps, stuck in a room
Calling for help
His brother on the stool

"There’s the cry!"

I could hear him tell
Went with my dad
Following sounds that upon mid-night fell

And there he was, young tiger found again!
Today a dad with many kittens...
Doing the same things as me and my friends
Protecting his colony, eating his chicken

Or sleeping on the sofa
With tummy-full moans

Tiger, my cat
He's a jolly good being
Sometimes rolling in egg shells,
Sometimes covered in beans

He has an innocent face
Hiding love and fear
Respect and stern values
As well as naughty endears

He smells of cows,
Sometimes of sheep
And God knows how
He could for hours, sleep!

On my dining table, by my shoes
Or stretching on my bed
Tossing away time,
Mumbling of news;

I wonder what’s in his head,
So big like a wobble-doll!
Angry when I play
But, that’s not all.

Tiger the cat,
He’s the one for all
Like a family than a cat

Bossing or playing the troll.
